Articles; What To Write About

31 October, 2008 (00:00) | By: DebAllen

After you make the decision to write articles for yourself your next step will be deciding what to write. The problem may be that you have no clue how to decide. In reality this is one of the easiest steps to article marketing.

Begin with a topic that directly relates to your niche and to your product or service. After all, you are writing articles to increase your traffic, build links, establish yourself as an authority, and to make more sales. The only way to do all that is if the article relates to your topic.

Another consideration is that of your knowledge base. In all likelihood you are already familiar with your niche and feel somewhat comfortable in writing about. But if you do not then you need to do some research first.

Your research will not be a difficult task if you use other articles as your starting point. Visit one of the more popular article directories on the Internet. Put in a search for articles on the topic that you will be writing about. You see, articles have already been written on virtually every topic.

All you have to do is read a few to gather the initial information needed for your article. But do not stop there. I also suggest that you do a search at your favorite search engine. Visit some of the websites listed and add to your notes for your article.

Continue with your research until you reach a point that you feel completely comfortable in writing your article. You will be ready to the point that you cannot wait to get your thoughts on paper.

Then as you write all you have to do is let your thoughts flow. If you get stuck take a quick look at your notes. Remember to write as if you are talking to someone.

Start with a great title and then add an introductory paragraph. The next few paragraphs will simply explain the concept you have introduced. You will discuss a problem and then present a solution. The solution will be something that can be achieved with your product or service.

The last paragraph will be a quick wrap up or summary of what you have discussed. This will take the reader full circle. Your summary will remind them of the purpose of the article, the problem and the solution. It sort of ties everything together.

Then you will go straight into your first sentence of your resource box. This will be a smooth transition from the article to the resource box. That keeps the flow going and the reader reading.

With a little planning you will find that article writing is not difficult. Determining what to write will be directly related to your product or service. Your product or service will be directly related to the needs and wants of your potential customers.
